[Previous Page :: Contents List :: Next Page] There are a few details of two such practices: Mr Poulain taught dancing in Harleston from 1776 to 1778 and taught fencing at Edward Christian’s dancing school in Norwich on Saturdays in 1777. Mr R Winter taught a circuit of Downham, Stoke and Thetford in 1794. Downham features on the circuits of King’s Lynn masters – the small fry were the prey of the bigger fish.
